Onboard Service just announced that a new Flight Attendant Contract Tracking System (FACTS) is now available.

What the heck is FACTS?  According to the FACTS Information Booklet, FACTS is a system for flight attendants, domicile staff and scheduling personnel to reporting contract interpretation issues.

Why was FACTS created?  According to the FACTS booklet, the system was created "because flight attendants reported that their contract was often violated by scheduling personnel."  No $#%&@!!!  You don't say?   The booklet goes on to state that "scheduling personnel were frustrated because flight attendants weren't familiar with their contracts.  Unfortunately, there has been no method for tracking contract interpretation issues except through rumor and talk on the jumpseat, neither of which was accurate."

How does FACTS work?  Use DIS*411 in Unimatic.  This is covered in detail on the DIS*411 page in The Complete Unimatic.  If you're not anywhere near a Unimatic terminal (or if that crappy AOL service isn't working correctly for home access), you can also submit a FACTS report using the following e-mail address:  facts@ual.com.  Make sure you also download the FACTS Information Booklet so that you know what specific information to provide.
